Estimation Engineer in Abqaiq

job purpose

to prepare accurate cost estimates, technical evaluations, and tender proposals by analyzing project specifications and requirements, ensuring competitive pricing and supporting successful project acquisition.

1. cost estimation & budgeting

• prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting.

• develop project budgets based on drawings, specifications, and scope.

2. technical study & analysis

• review project specifications, drawings, and boqs.

• identify technical requirements, scope gaps, and cost-impact items.

• perform quantity take-off and ensure accurate measurements.

3. tendering & proposal preparation

• prepare technical and commercial proposals for tenders.

• request quotations from suppliers/subcontractors and evaluate offers.

4. coordination & communication

• communicate with engineering, procurement, and project teams for cost inputs.

• clarify technical queries with clients, consultants, and suppliers.

• attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.

5. value engineering

• identify cost-saving opportunities and alternatives for materials and methods.

• recommend solutions that optimize cost without compromising quality.

6. documentation & reporting

• prepare estimation reports, breakdowns, and cost summaries.

• maintain proper documentation of assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications.

• assist in preparing tender submission documents.

7. post-tender support

• support negotiations with clients and subcontractors.

• revise estimates as per updated drawings or client feedback.

• hand over final cost documents to project execution teams.

8. cost control & monitoring

• monitor project costs and compare with the budget.

• identify potential cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.

• prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial summaries
