DUCT & DAMPER MANUFACTURING DESIGN ENGINEER in Jubail

Core Technical Responsibilities:

Component Specification: Select and specify Back-Draught Dampers (BDD) to prevent air backflow in ventilation systems and Motorized Volume Control Dampers (MVCD) for automated airflow regulation.

Sizing & Layout: Perform detailed duct sizing and pressure drop calculations to ensure dampers do not create excessive resistance that could impair fan performance.

BMS Integration: Design the interface between MVCD actuators and the Building Management System (BMS) to enable energy-efficient automated operations.

Material Selection: Ensure all dampers and ductwork are constructed from appropriate materials, such as galvanized steel or aluminum, to meet project durability and environmental requirements.

Design & Documentation:

Drawing Preparation: Create detailed 2D and 3D shop drawings, ducting diagrams (D&IDs), and equipment schedules using AutoCAD or Revit.

Standard Compliance: Verify that all damper designs and installations conform to international standards such as NFPA (fire safety), SMACNA (duct construction), and ASHRAE (airflow performance).

BOM Generation: Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates for all ducting accessories, including dampers, louvers, and actuators.

Project Coordination & Quality Control:

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with electrical and structural teams to ensure proper power supply for motorized actuators and adequate space for duct routing.

Technical Reviews: Review supplier submittals and technical data sheets for BDDs and MVCDs to ensure they meet the specific design requirements of the project.

Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation and commissioning of dampers to verify they operate smoothly (e.g., checking for blade misalignment or binding) and meet specified leak-class ratings.

Troubleshooting: Resolve site-specific issues such as excessive noise, vibration, or airflow imbalances related to damper placement or operation.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Design Engg., or related field.

Salary & emoluments: 2500 to 4000 SAR + Food Allowance + Accommodation + Transportation.
