Job Title: Assistant Chef

Department: Kitchen / Food & Beverage

Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Assistant Chef supports the Head Chef and kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and presenting food items. The role ensures cleanliness, basic food preparation, and smooth daily operations in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in food preparation and daily kitchen operations.

Ensure the kitchen area, utensils, and equipment are clean and well‑maintained.

Prepare ingredients (washing, cutting, portioning) according to menu requirements.

Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

Help with plating and basic cooking under supervision.

Receive and store kitchen supplies properly.

Monitor stock levels and inform the Chef of shortages.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety rules.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene.

Previous experience as a kitchen helper, commis, or in a similar role is preferred but not required.

Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
