PROJECT DIRECTOR (HV/EHV) – POWER TRANSMISSION & SUBSTATIONS

Location: Saudi Arabia

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of major High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission and substation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EPC contracting, project execution, stakeholder management, and commercial oversight within the power sector.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide overall leadership for HV and EHV transmission and substation projects.

* Manage project delivery from engineering and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.

* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

* Lead multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, and consultants.

* Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.

* Oversee project planning, risk management, contract administration, and commercial performance.

* Monitor project KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

* Ensure compliance with client specifications, local regulations, and international standards.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s Degree is an advantage.

* Minimum 15–20 years of experience in power transmission and substation projects.

* At least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Project Director, Project Manager, or Program Manager.

* Proven experience delivering HV and EHV projects (132kV, 220kV, 380kV and above).

* Strong EPC contracting experience, including engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.

* Demonstrated success in managing large project teams and multiple stakeholders.

* Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management skills.

* PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Experience

* Transmission lines and substations up to 380kV and above.

* Utility, grid expansion, and power infrastructure projects.

* Experience working with major utility clients and government entities.

* Middle East/GCC project experience is highly desirable.
