Engineering Design Manager in Dammam

JOB PURPOSE

The Engineering Design Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all engineering design activities in consulting / designing company, ensuring adherence to company standards, client requirements, and KSA/GCC regulations. The role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating with project stakeholders, and delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions to support successful project execution.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, plan, and manage all engineering design activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements in KSA/GCC.

• Oversee multidisciplinary design teams, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural disciplines.

• Ensure all design deliverables meet quality, safety, and environmental standards and integrate seamlessly with project execution plans.

• Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and reports.

• Coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure design alignment and timely issue resolution.

• Implement design quality control processes, including peer reviews, design verification, and risk assessment.

• Ensure proper documentation, version control, and maintenance of design records in line with company procedures.

• Support tendering and procurement processes by providing technical inputs, design clarifications, and cost estimates.

• Conduct value engineering exercises and propose innovative, cost-effective solutions while maintaining technical integrity.

• Facilitate technical workshops, training sessions, and design reviews with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards during design development and site implementation.

• Monitor project timelines, design milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time completion of design phases.

• Prepare periodic reports on design progress, challenges, and performance for senior management review.

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical discipline).

• Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent are an advantage.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering design management within the designing / consulting industry.

• Proven track record in GCC projects, preferably in KSA.

• Hands-on experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and implementing design management processes.

• Familiarity with client approvals, design audits, and regulatory compliance in KSA/GCC projects.
