Technical Draftsman – Joinery & Woodworks in Jeddah

Reports To: Technical Manager / Engineering Manager / Production Manager

Works Closely With: Interior Designers, Architects, Project Engineers, Workshop Supervisors, CNC Operators, Production Teams, and Site Installation Teams.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Draftsman specializing in Joinery and Woodworks to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate shop drawings, production drawings, and technical documentation for custom woodwork, cabinetry, furniture, and interior fit-out projects.

The successful candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of joinery construction, woodworking materials, manufacturing processes, and production requirements, ensuring seamless coordination between design, production, and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Drafting & Shop Drawings

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings for joinery and custom woodwork projects.

• Develop technical drawings for kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, doors, wall paneling, furniture, and bespoke woodwork elements.

• Convert approved architectural and interior design drawings into production-ready shop drawings.

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models.

• Prepare cutting lists, material schedules, hardware schedules, and component details.

• Generate detailed BOQs and material take-offs from approved drawings.

2. Design Coordination

• Coordinate closely with architects, interior designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure technical accuracy.

• Review project specifications, design intent, and client requirements before commencing shop drawings.

• Participate in coordination meetings to resolve technical and production-related issues.

• Liaise with workshop supervisors, site engineers, and installation teams regarding fabrication and installation requirements.

3. Production & Manufacturing Support

• Ensure all drawings contain accurate dimensions, material specifications, finishes, hardware details, and construction methods.

• Provide technical support and drawing revisions throughout the manufacturing process.

• Prepare CNC and machine-ready drawings when required.

• Optimize designs to improve production efficiency and material utilization.

• Support workshop teams with technical clarifications and fabrication details.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

• Verify that all drawings comply with project specifications, quality standards, and company procedures.

• Conduct drawing reviews to identify conflicts, discrepancies, and potential production issues.

• Maintain revision control and ensure all updated drawings are properly documented and distributed.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality requirements, and industry standards.

5. Documentation & Project Records

• Maintain organized records of approved drawings, revisions, and project documentation.

• Prepare as-built drawings when required upon project completion.

• Organize and manage drawing archives for efficient retrieval and project tracking.

• Ensure proper document control throughout all project stages.

Mandatory Requirements

• AutoCAD (Advanced)

• Strong proficiency in preparing joinery and woodwork shop drawings

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in joinery, woodworking, cabinetry, furniture manufacturing, or interior fit-out projects.

• Proven experience in preparing detailed shop drawings and production documentation.

• Strong knowledge of woodworking materials, hardware systems, manufacturing methods, and installation techniques.

• Experience working with custom furniture, luxury joinery, and interior fit-out projects is highly preferred.
