Job Title: Instrument Engineer

Department: Instrumentation

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Job Location: Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose

To design, engineer, install, test, and commission instrumentation and control systems ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient skid-mounted and plant operations in compliance with international and Saudi Aramco standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review instrument index, datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and cable schedules

• Supervise installation and commissioning of field instruments including flow, pressure, level, and temperature transmitters

• Perform calibration, loop checking, functional testing, and troubleshooting of instruments

• Integrate field instruments with PLC, DCS, ESD, and interlock systems

• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and process teams during project execution

• Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and material specifications

• Ensure compliance with SAES-L, IEC, ISA, and project-specific standards

• Support FAT, SAT, and site commissioning activities

• Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and as-built documentation

• Ensure all work is executed in line with HSE requirements and company procedures

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and control philosophies

• Hands-on experience with calibration tools and testing equipment

• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and wiring diagrams

• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco engineering standards and documentation

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Strong communication and coordination abilities

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical Engineering

• Minimum 7–9 years of relevant instrumentation experience

• Saudi Aramco project experience is highly preferred

• Experience in skid-mounted systems, oil & gas, or industrial projects is an advantage
