About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Jubail. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in EPC environments and petrochemical/refinery plants, with deep knowledge of electrical design, power systems, and troubleshooting.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale industrial projects, from FEED through detailed engineering, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant electrical system design and execution.

Key Responsibilities

🔧 Engineering & Design

Develop and review electrical design packages from FEED to detailed engineering.

Design electrical systems ranging from 230kV, 34.5kV to 110V, including:

GIS switchgear

MCCs (Motor Control Centers)

MV/LV motors and VSDs

Transformers

Protection relays

Lighting and heat tracing systems

Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.

⚡ Power System Studies & Analysis

Lead and review power system studies using ETAP, including:

Load flow analysis

Short circuit studies

Motor starting studies

Protective relay coordination

Grounding and arc flash studies

🛠️ Technical Support & Troubleshooting

Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical issues.

Provide recommendations to prevent recurrence and improve system reliability.

Support maintenance teams and optimize equipment performance.

📊 Project & Stakeholder Management

Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Review vendor drawings and integrate into project designs.

Support cost estimation, scope development, and material take-offs.

⚙️ Compliance & Standards

Ensure all designs comply with international standards:

NFPA 70 / 70E / 497

ANSI / IEEE

IEC

Review electrical installations and permit applications.

Support MOC (Management of Change) approvals.

🏗️ Field & Construction Support

Participate in plant layout design ensuring constructability, operability, and safety.

Oversee installation of electrical equipment in hazardous classified areas.

Interface with field teams, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

10–15+ years of relevant experience in:

EPC companies

Petrochemical or refinery plants

Strong background in electrical design and engineering.

Proven experience in high-voltage and medium-voltage systems.

Hands-on experience with Siemens, SEL, and GE protection relays (design & testing).

Expertise in ETAP software for power system analysis.

Ability to interpret P&IDs and translate into electrical designs.
