IT Support Specialist

1. IT Support and Troubleshooting:
– Provide technical assistance and support to end-users regarding hardware, software, networking, and other IT-related issues.
– Diagnose and resolve technical problems, both remotely and in-person, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow.
– Respond promptly to IT support requests, prioritize tasks, and escalate complex issues to appropriate team members or vendors, if required.
– Maintain accurate records of support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in a ticketing system.

2. Network and System Administration:
– Assist in the administration and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
– Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal network availability and performance.
– Configure and manage network services, such as DHCP, DNS, VPN, and NGINX.
– Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.

3. IT Assets Management:
– Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
– Coordinate IT asset procurement, including researching and recommending suitable products, obtaining quotes, and tracking purchases.
– Install, configure, and update software applications on workstations, laptops, and servers.
– Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and maintain accurate asset records.

Requirements

• Proven experience in providing IT support and troubleshooting in a professional environment.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, NGINX, etc.).
• Experience in system administration, including Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Familiarity with network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Knowledge of domain maintenance, including Active Directory administration.
• Proficient in IT asset management, including procurement, inventory, and software licensing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with end-users and explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.
