IT Specialist & Administrator – Global Infrastructure, Security & Unified Communications E in Manama

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Specialist & Administrator to manage and optimize our critical global infrastructure and communication systems. This individual will be a key technical resource, responsible for the design, deployment, security, and maintenance of our core network, server, virtualization, and unified communication (UC) platforms. A strong emphasis is placed on expertise in networking, security, virtualization (VMware), enterprise platforms (AD, Microsoft 365, ERP), and PBX systems.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

Infrastructure & Systems Management

Unified Communications (UC): Manage and support all enterprise voice systems, including both Cloud-based PBX and on-premise (on-primes) PBX installations, ensuring seamless, high-availability communication across the organization.

Virtualization Expertise: Deploy, manage, and maintain the enterprise virtualization environment, primarily utilizing VMware vSphere and related technologies to ensure high availability and resource optimization.

Networking & Security: Provision, configure, and maintain all network hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless systems. Design, implement, and manage secure Firewall policies and VPN solutions.

Identity & Access Management: Manage and maintain the corporate identity infrastructure, including Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and single sign-on solutions.

Cloud & Email Services: Administer and support enterprise cloud applications, specifically managing Microsoft 365 (M365) email hosting, security, and related services.

Application Support: Provide technical support and background knowledge for key enterprise applications, including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Security, Reliability, and Project Execution

Data Protection & Backup: Design and manage comprehensive system backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and successful recovery testing.

Security Assessment: Perform continuous Vulnerability Assessments (VA) and security monitoring, proactively identifying and remediating weaknesses and managing patch cycles.

Tier III Support: Act as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, providing expert Tier III troubleshooting and resolution for network, server, and application failures.

Innovation & Strategy: Engage in technical research and development to drive infrastructure innovation, implementing automation where possible to improve efficiency and system scalability.

Project Leadership: Provide technical expertise in the Initiation and Planning phases of IT projects, ensuring solutions are operationally sound and aligned with global standards.

Required Qualifications & Expertise

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field from a recognized college or university.

Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience working in a complex, enterprise-level IT infrastructure role.

Proven, hands-on expert experience in the following core areas:

Administration of Cloud and On-Premise PBX solutions.

VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).

Firewall and network device administration (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper).

Administering Microsoft 365 and enterprise email hosting solutions.

Managing enterprise Active Directory (AD) infrastructure.

Essential Skills and Competencies

Advanced Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of networking (routing/switching), server hardware, and storage systems.

Security Focus: Proven ability to conduct Vulnerability Assessments (VA) and implement robust security policies.

OS Proficiency: Strong administration skills in both Linux and Windows Server.

Enterprise Systems: Background or working knowledge of ERP system architecture and integration points.

Communication & Collaboration: Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory for international collaboration. Arabic is highly desirable.

A collaborative mindset and ability to perform effectively within a multi-cultural, globally distributed team.

Preferred: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., VCP, CCNA/P, MCSA/E, ITIL, Security+).

Preferred: Relevant experience in a healthcare environment and working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
