Job Title: Mud Logger

Job Summary

The Mud Logger is responsible for monitoring drilling operations and analyzing geological data to identify subsurface formations. The role supports safe and efficient drilling by providing real-time information to the drilling and geology teams.

Key Responsibilities

– Monitor drilling parameters, mud properties, and gas levels in real time

– Collect, wash, and analyze drill cuttings to determine lithology

– Maintain accurate geological and drilling logs

– Detect and report abnormal pressure, gas, or drilling trends

– Communicate findings to the drilling supervisor and geologists

– Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures

Qualifications

– Degree or diploma in geology, petroleum engineering, or related field preferred

– Basic knowledge of drilling operations and wellsite safety

– Strong observation, reporting, and communication skills

– Ability to work shifts in remote or offshore locations

Work Environment

Field-based role on drilling rigs, often involving long shifts and rotational schedules
