QC NDT Coordinator in Riyadh

Core Responsibilities

Activity Planning: Schedule and prioritize NDT inspections (such as Radiography, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant testing) to align with fabrication and construction timelines.

Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with third-party NDT service providers, assign tasks to technicians, and monitor their performance for compliance.

Documentation Review: Verify NDT procedures, review inspection reports for accuracy, and maintain a detailed “NDT Matrix” or log to track testing status and repair rates.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure all testing adheres to project specifications and international codes such as ASME Section V, AWS D1.1, or API standards.

Technical Interpretation: Review and interpret NDT results, including radiographic films, to identify defects like cracks or corrosion and determine necessary weld repairs.

Equipment & Personnel Audit: Verify that NDT equipment is calibrated and that technicians hold valid certifications (e.g., ASNT Level II or III).

Reporting: Prepare daily and weekly quality status reports for the QC Manager and project management team

Required Qualifications & Skills

Certifications: Typically requires ASNT Level II (or Level III for senior roles) in multiple NDT methods like RT, UT, MT, and PT.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is standard.

Experience: Often requires 5–10+ years of experience in QA/QC, specifically within heavy industries like Oil & Gas, petrochemicals, or marine fabrication.

Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Software Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and specialized welding/quality management software.
