Backend Developer (SaaS / IoT / Logistics) – Part-Time Or Full-Time in Olaya

Project Overview: We are building a next-generation Logistics & IoT SaaS Platform (Fleet Management, Cold Chain Monitoring, and Transport Warehouse Management). We need a strong Backend Developer to architect and build the server-side infrastructure that processes real-time data from IoT devices, GPS trackers, and user inputs.

Key Responsibilities:

API Development: Design and build secure, scalable RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs to support the Front-End dashboard and Mobile Apps.

IoT & Real-Time Data: Implement real-time data ingestion pipelines (using MQTT, WebSockets, or TCP) to handle live streams from GPS trackers and temperature sensors.

Database Management: Design optimized database schemas for complex relational data (Users, Fleets, Orders) and high-volume time-series data (Sensor logs, Location history).

Logic & Algorithms: Implement core business logic for features like Geofencing alerts, Route optimization, and Inventory management.

Integration: Work closely with the Front-End team to ensure seamless data flow and integrate third-party services (SMS gateways, Payment processors, Mapping APIs).

Technical Requirements:

Primary Language: Expert proficiency in [Node.js / Python / Go – choose one based on your preference].

Databases: Strong experience with SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) for business data AND NoSQL (MongoDB/DynamoDB/InfluxDB) for IoT/Sensor logs.

Real-Time Protocols: Experience with WebSockets (Socket.io) and MQTT is highly desirable (crucial for our Fleet & Cold Chain modules).

Geospatial Data: Experience handling map data, GeoJSON, and geospatial queries (e.g., PostGIS) for tracking and geofencing.

Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with AWS/Google Cloud, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Experience (The “Ideal” Candidate):

Prior experience building SaaS platforms or Logistics/Supply Chain software.

Experience parsing raw hex data from GPS/IoT hardware (Teltonika, TZone, etc.) is a massive plus.

Understanding of authentication standards (JWT, OAuth) and data security.
