Customs Clearance Officer

Customs Clearance Officer – Prepare and submit all necessary import/export documents (bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.)
– Ensure accuracy and compliance of all documentation with customs laws and trade regulations
– Maintain updated knowledge of local, regional, and international customs rules
– Liaise with customs officials to facilitate prompt clearance of shipments
– Verify tariff classifications, duty rates, and tax applicability
– Resolve customs queries, disputes, or inspection issues
– Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport companies
– Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery
– Provide regular updates to management and clients regarding shipment status
– Maintain detailed records of all import/export activities
– Prepare periodic reports on clearance times, costs, and compliance issues
– Ensure proper archiving of customs documentation for audit purposes
