Job Summary

A Kitchen Helper supports the kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness, preparing ingredients, and ensuring smooth operations during food preparation. This role is essential to keeping the kitchen organized, safe, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Assist cooks and chefs with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, cutting ingredients).

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including countertops, floors, and equipment.

Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware using manual or automated systems.

Store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in designated areas.

Dispose of kitchen waste in a safe and sanitary manner.

Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations.

Assist in unloading and organizing deliveries.

Ensure all kitchen tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.

Support chefs during busy periods as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

No formal education required; high school diploma preferred.

Experience in a kitchen environment is a plus but not mandatory.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to follow instructions accurately.

Basic knowledge of food safety is an advantage.
