Assistant Chef/sous Chef /catering in Khobar

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Chef / Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing a high-volume catering kitchen serving 1,000 employees from Eastern Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal). The ideal candidate will assist in menu preparation, staff supervision, inventory management, and maintaining high food quality while ensuring culturally diverse meals are delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing daily menus tailored to different Eastern Asian cuisines.

• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during high-volume meal service.

• Help maintain food inventory, including storage, rotation, and minimizing waste.

• Assist in forecasting food cost estimates and ensuring meals are prepared within budget.

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

• Monitor food preparation standards, portion sizes, and presentation to meet quality expectations.

• Step in for the Head Chef when needed, ensuring continuity of kitchen operations.

• Support staff training and development, including hygiene and cooking standards.

• Collaborate with the Head Chef to improve kitchen efficiency and workflow.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Assistant Chef, preferably in large-scale catering.

• Knowledge of kitchen management, food safety, and large-volume food preparation.

• Experience preparing culturally diverse menus is highly preferred.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Ability to lead a team, communicate clearly, and enforce kitchen standards.

• Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume catering environment.

Preferred:

• Culinary degree or relevant certification.

• Experience in industrial-scale kitchens or catering for labor forces.
