Senior Project Engineer – Construction in Manama

Key Responsibilities

Manage, coordinate, and supervise all on-site civil and structural construction activities in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project timelines.

Review construction drawings and shop drawings to confirm accuracy, constructability, and alignment with design and contract requirements.

Supervise execution of major works including excavation, foundations, concrete works, masonry, finishes, and external works to ensure quality and timely progress.

Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.

Carry out inspections for formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement, and finishing works to verify compliance with approved quality standards and testing requirements.

Ensure that all materials, workmanship, and construction methods meet approved specifications and applicable industry standards.

Monitor workforce productivity, equipment usage, and construction progress to achieve planned targets and milestones.

Coordinate with consultants, project managers, and client representatives for inspections, approvals, and technical clarifications.

Prepare and submit daily progress reports, inspection requests, site instructions, and related correspondence to the project management team.

Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, material submittals, and work permits as per project requirements.

Identify technical issues, site constraints, and potential delays, and recommend practical solutions to maintain project momentum.

Ensure strict compliance with project QA/QC procedures and HSE regulations to maintain a safe and compliant site environment.

Work closely with planning and quantity surveying teams to track quantities, productivity rates, and material consumption.

Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, and material usage for audits and project documentation.

Foster teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement among site staff and subcontractors.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in supervising and executing civil and structural works, preferably on building or infrastructure projects.

Strong technical expertise in concrete works, reinforcement, formwork systems, finishing works, and general construction practices.

Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office, with working knowledge of project planning or scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Good understanding of international codes and standards including ACI, BS, ASTM, and related guidelines.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage site teams effectively.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-driven approach.

Sound knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection procedures, and HSE compliance requirements.

Previous GCC experience and possession of a valid driving license will be considered an advantage.
