Mechanical Technicians ( Diesel Generator Works ) in Riyadh

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

A. Generator Mechanical Installation

• Assist in unloading, positioning, and installation of diesel generators on concrete foundations.

• Perform accurate generator alignment and leveling.

• Install vibration isolators and base frames.

• Ensure correct mechanical fixing and torque tightening of bolts.

B. Radiator & Cooling System Installation

• Install radiator units, cooling fans, and piping systems.

• Connect flexible hoses between generator engine and radiator.

• Install coolant expansion tanks and valves.

• Perform coolant filling and leak testing.

• Ensure proper airflow direction and clearances for cooling performance.

C. Fuel System Installation

• Install diesel fuel tanks, fuel pumps, day tanks, and fuel piping.

• Install fuel supply and return lines between tank and generator.

• Install fuel filters, valves, and level sensors.

• Perform fuel line pressure testing and leak detection.

• Ensure proper earthing of fuel tanks and metallic pipes.

D. Exhaust System Installation

• Install exhaust piping, silencers, and flexible bellows.

• Install exhaust supports, hangers, and thermal insulation.

• Ensure proper slope and routing of exhaust lines.

• Verify safe exhaust gas discharge outside the building.

• Check expansion joints and vibration isolation points.

E. Testing & Commissioning Support

• Assist during:

o Generator start-up and mechanical inspection

o Cooling system performance tests

o Fuel system operation tests

• Rectify any mechanical defects observed during testing and commissioning.

• Support load bank testing activities.

F. Safety & Quality Compliance

• Follow all HSE requirements and wear proper PPE.

• Participate in toolbox talks and safety inductions.

• Ensure all installations comply with approved ITPs and WIRs.

• Maintain good housekeeping and safe working areas.

• Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.

G. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate daily activities with Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Foreman.

• Work closely with electrical and civil teams during generator installation.

• Follow daily work plans and project schedules.

• Submit daily progress updates if required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Technical Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in:

o Diesel generator installation

o Fuel systems

o Radiator and cooling systems

o Exhaust systems

• Experience in airports, hospitals, or critical facilities is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Good knowledge of mechanical drawings and installation layouts.

• Skilled in piping installation, alignment, and mechanical fitting works.

• Ability to detect leaks and mechanical defects.

• Strong awareness of HSE procedures.

• Ability to work under pressure and within tight schedules.

• Teamwork and good communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Site-based work in airports and industrial locations.

• Shift work and extended hours may be required.

• Exposure to heavy equipment, high temperatures, and confined spaces.
