Position: HV Transformer Repair Technician

Blackstone Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Transformer Repair Technician to join our rapidly growing power-sector maintenance team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with 5–60 MVA transformers, in-depth knowledge of transformer internals, and the ability to perform diagnostics, repair, testing, and commissioning at client sites across the Eastern Province.

✅ Key Responsibilities

Transformer Maintenance & Repair

Perform complete internal & external transformer repair (1 MVA to 60 MVA).

Conduct winding resistance, TTR, IR/PI, Tan δ, SFRA, and Magnetic Balance tests.

Diagnose and repair bushing failures, OLTC issues, hot spots, oil leaks, and internal faults.

Carry out core & coil inspection, tightening, and rectification.

Execute transformer oil filtration, dehydration, and vacuum drying procedures.

Handle oil sampling, BDV, and DGA testing.

Commissioning & Field Work

Perform pre-commissioning and post-commissioning checks on HV transformers.

Support substation shutdowns, energization activities, and OLTC functional testing.

Troubleshoot and rectify on-site transformer abnormalities.

Provide field reports, diagnostic summaries, and recommendations to engineering team.

Safety & Compliance

Follow strict substation LOTO, grounding, and safety protocols.

Ensure all work is compliant with SEC, Aramco, SCECO, and international standards (IEC/IEEE).

✅ Qualifications & Experience

Required

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Technology.

3–10+ years experience in HV transformer maintenance & repair.

Strong understanding of:

OLTC (Resistive & Reactance type)

Power transformer internals

DGA, BDV, PF testing

HV safety protocols

Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and OEM manuals.

Hands-on experience with test equipment (Megger, DV Power, OMICRON, etc.).

Preferred

Experience with substations up to 69–132 kV.

Saudi Arabia driving license.

Previous experience with SEC / Aramco / SWCC / SABIC facilities.

Certification in Transformer Maintenance or HV testing (asset).
