QAQC ENGINEER in Manama

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate QA/QC functions representing the Client/Developer throughout all project stages.

Verify that construction activities conform to approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual obligations, and relevant codes and standards.

Review and evaluate contractor submissions including Quality Management Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and material submittals.

Carry out regular site inspections, quality monitoring, and internal audits to confirm acceptable workmanship levels.

Ensure uniform application of approved QA/QC procedures by main contractors and subcontractors across all site activities.

Identify quality deviations, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and track corrective and preventive measures through to closure.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client representatives to address and resolve quality-related concerns.

Witness inspections, testing works, mock-ups, and trial installations in accordance with approved ITPs and specifications.

Examine laboratory test reports, material certificates, and compliance documentation to verify conformity with project requirements.

Monitor material management processes including receipt inspections, storage practices, approvals, and traceability controls.

Maintain complete and accurate quality records such as inspection reports, test results, NCR logs, and handover files.

Monitor workmanship quality for civil, architectural, finishing, and MEP interface works, as applicable.

Assist in the preparation, review, and validation of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and final handover documentation.

Conduct quality awareness briefings and toolbox talks emphasizing workmanship standards and project quality objectives.

Ensure effective site housekeeping and confirm readiness of completed works prior to inspections by clients, consultants, or authorities.

Coordinate with site teams to track, rectify, and close snags and punch-list items within agreed schedules.

Liaise with regulatory bodies, consultants, and third-party testing agencies when required.

Evaluate subcontractor quality performance and submit periodic quality reports to the Client and Project Management team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.

At least five (5) years of practical experience in construction QA/QC, preferably in a client-side, consultancy, or PMC environment.

Strong knowledge of construction specifications, quality management systems, inspection methodologies, and document control processes.

Familiarity with local authority regulations and international standards such as BS, ASTM, and ISO.

Excellent skills in reporting, coordination, documentation, and communication.

Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
