Core Responsibilities
• Compliance: Enforce Saudi Aramco Safety Standards, Industrial Security, and Environmental Protection requirements across all project activities.
• Safety Management: Implement and monitor Aramco’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Loss Prevention procedures.
• Inspections & Audits: Conduct daily toolbox talks, site inspections, and safety audits to identify hazards and corrective actions.
• Permit to Work (PTW): Ensure all personnel comply with PTW systems before starting tasks.
• Incident Reporting: Investigate and report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts in line with Aramco HSE guidelines.
• Documentation: Maintain safety records, reports, and inspection logs for Aramco audits.
• Training: Conduct safety inductions for new employees and subcontractors.
• Coordination: Work closely with Aramco Safety Representatives during audits and walkthroughs.
Approval Process with Aramco
To be recognized as an Aramco-approved Safety Officer, candidates must:
• Education: Hold a relevant degree (Engineering, Safety, or equivalent).
• Certifications: Possess international safety certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, etc.).
• Experience: Demonstrate prior safety experience in oil & gas projects, typically 5–10 years.
• Assessment: Pass Aramco’s approval test, interview, and practical evaluation.
• Documentation: Submit qualifications, experience records, and safety training certificates for review.
• Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing training and development programs mandated by Aramco.

• Authority: Only approved Safety Officers can officially oversee safety compliance on Aramco sites.
