SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER in Manama

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee all on-site civil and structural activities in line with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project timelines.

Review IFC and shop drawings to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with design intent and contractual requirements.

Supervise key construction works including excavation, foundations, concrete structures, blockwork, finishes, and external works.

Coordinate day-to-day site activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to maintain efficient workflow.

Inspect formwork, reinforcement fixing, concrete placement, and finishing works to confirm compliance with approved standards and testing criteria.

Ensure all materials, workmanship, and construction techniques conform to project specifications and recognized industry standards.

Track manpower efficiency, equipment deployment, and construction progress against approved schedules and milestones.

Coordinate with consultants, project managers, and client representatives for inspections, approvals, and resolution of technical matters.

Prepare and submit daily progress updates, inspection requests (IRs), site instructions, and related site documentation.

Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, material submittals, permits, and technical submissions.

Identify technical issues, site constraints, and schedule risks, and recommend practical solutions to sustain progress.

Ensure adherence to project QA/QC systems and HSE requirements to maintain safe and compliant site operations.

Work closely with planning and quantity surveying teams to monitor quantities, productivity levels, and material consumption.

Maintain accurate records of construction activities, inspections, and material usage for reporting, audits, and project records.

Encourage teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement among site staff and subcontractor workforce.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

Six (6) to ten (10) years of relevant experience overseeing civil and structural works, preferably on building or infrastructure projects.

Strong technical knowledge of concrete works, reinforcement detailing, formwork systems, finishing trades, and general construction practices.

Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office, with practical knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar scheduling tools.

Good working knowledge of international codes and standards including ACI, BS, ASTM, and related specifications.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with demonstrated site management capability.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Sound understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection protocols, and HSE compliance requirements.

Prior GCC experience and possession of a valid driving license will be considered an added advantage.
