HDPE Operator/Technician in Dammam

Position: HDPE Pipe Fitter / HDPE Welder / Pipe Fusion Technician / Fabricator

Experience: Min 5/8 Years

Salary: Negotiable

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine layout requirements and plan the sequence of operations.

2. Measure, cut, and prepare pipes for joining, using various tools such as saws, pipe cutters, and pipe bending machines.

3. Join pipes and fittings using appropriate methods, primarily butt fusion, electrofusion, or socket fusion techniques, ensuring strong, leak-proof joints.

4. Operate and maintain specialized fusion equipment, such as hydraulic butt fusion machines and electrofusion processors, ensuring they are calibrated and used correctly.

5. Install and secure piping systems (above ground, underground, or in pipe racks) to structures using brackets, clamps, and supports.

6. Inspect, examine, and test installed systems for leaks or weak joints using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, or other methods to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.

7. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues within existing piping systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.

8. Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) due to potential hazards like chemicals, heavy equipment, and confined spaces.

9. Collaborate with engineers, other pipefitters, and construction workers to ensure seamless project execution.

10. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any modifications made.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Experience: Proven experience in pipefitting, welding, or a similar role, specifically with HDPE or other plastic piping materials, is typically required.

2. Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of different piping materials, fittings, joining methods, and relevant building codes.

3. Certifications: A valid pipefitting certification or license, and often specific training/certification in HDPE fusion techniques (e.g., from manufacturers like McElroy), is preferred or mandatory.

4. Physical Fitness: The ability to perform physical work, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, climbing, kneeling, and working in various weather and job site conditions.

5. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

6. Knowledge: Knowledge of HDPE material properties and manufacturing/joining processes.
