Grader Operator Job Description in Dammam

Core responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment: Use self-propelled motor graders to spread, level, and shape earth and aggregate materials.

Grade and level surfaces: Achieve rough or fine-grade finishes according to project specifications, ensuring surfaces are prepared for subsequent layers like asphalt.

Shape and finish: Shape road shoulders and slopes, and use the blade to carve ditches and other features.

Follow plans and instructions: Work from blueprints, verbal instructions, and site markers to position the equipment correctly.

Perform maintenance: Service, lubricate, and refuel the equipment, and perform minor adjustments and repairs.

Ensure safety: Monitor operations, identify and avoid potential hazards, and comply with all safety standards.

Additional duties

Coordinate with other workers: Signal and communicate with other crew members, such as truck drivers and ground crews, to coordinate activities.

Assist with other tasks: Be willing to perform other duties as requested to ensure the job is completed.

Keep records: Log information on material or equipment usage and any problems encountered.

Mentor junior operators: Senior operators may be responsible for training and mentoring less experienced staff.

Required skills and qualifications

Experience operating graders and other heavy equipment.

Knowledge of grading techniques, materials, and specifications.

Strong spatial awareness and precision for fine-grade work.

Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks and lift up to 50 pounds.

Excellent safety awareness and communication skills.

A valid driver’s license is often required.
