Fiber Optics Engineer

– Design, develop and evaluate fiber optic interconnect platforms intended for high-speed signal transmission in electronic equipment.
– Member or lead cross-functional teams tasked with developing advanced optical interconnects.
– Pursues opportunities to generate and file for intellectual property as appropriate.
– Implements and maintains equipment, processes, and fixturing in division laboratories needed for testing and evaluating the performance of optical interconnect systems such as laser signal sources, power meters, optical TDRs, and beam profile analysis equipment.
– Maintains a level of expertise in: optical fiber, optical connectors, active optical interconnects multimode optics, single mode optics, optical fiber preparation, and optical communication testing.
