Planning Engineer in Dammam

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed project master schedules (baseline, detailed look-ahead plans).

Develop time-scaled work sequences and identify critical path activities.

Update schedules regularly to reflect progress, changes, and delays.

Track project progress and measure actual performance against plans.

Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports (Gantt charts, progress curves, variance analysis).

Report schedule status to Project Manager, HOD, and key stakeholders.

Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Contracts, Procurement, and Project Controls teams

Ensure effective communication of planning requirements and constraints.

Facilitate planning meetings, workshops, and progress reviews.

Identify potential schedule risks and bottlenecks.

Perform what-if analysis, delay impact assessments, and mitigation planning.

Provide recovery strategies and recommend corrective actions.

Maintain planning records, logs, baseline revisions, and change requests.

Manage project milestones, progress measurement methods, and KPI dashboards.

Support claims preparation with substantiated schedule data when required.

Assist in manpower, equipment, and material planning to support schedule requirements.

Liaise with procurement and logistics to align delivery with project timelines.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Construction, or Project Management preferred).

Experience

8+ years of planning experience in construction (industrial, infrastructure, buildings, oil & gas, utilities).

Experience with large civil/MEP/structural works highly regarded.

Technical Skills

Proficient in planning tools: Primavera P6, MS Project (Primavera preferred).

Strong skills in MS Excel, data analysis, and reporting.

Knowledge of progress measurement methods and forecasting techniques.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Good communication (English required; Arabic is a plus).

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Collaborative mindset with attention to detail.
