Web and Systems Administrator

Web and Systems Administrator – The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both systems administration and web administration, with extensive experience in managing and maintaining complex IT infrastructures.

They will be responsible for:
Systems Administration:
– Server Administration: Managing and maintaining physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux).
– Network Administration: Configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
– Storage Management: Managing and maintaining storage systems (SAN, NAS).
– Security Management: Developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
– Automation and Scripting: Automating routine tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash).
– Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure and processes.

Web Administration:
– Web Application Support: Providing comprehensive support for web applications running on Apache and Microsoft IIS.
– Vendor Coordination: Coordinating with vendors for regular patching and updates of web products.
– Upgrades and Troubleshooting: Planning and executing upgrades for Apache and IIS products, and troubleshooting related issues.
– Vulnerability Management: Coordinating with multiple vendors and teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in Apache/IIS and operating systems.
– IT Service Management (ITSM): Managing and maintaining ITSM tools to keep track of new IT assets.
– User Account Management: Managing user accounts across multiple internal systems.
– Incident Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring day-to-day incidents and alerts related to web applications and servers.
– By combining these roles, the ideal candidate will be able to provide comprehensive support for web applications and services, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. They will have a deep understanding of the underlying infrastructure, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues at both the system and application levels.
