Position: Network Communication Engineer

Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia

Duration: 3–6 Months (Contract)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Network Communication Engineer to support industrial communication network activities for an ARAMCO project in Jubail. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with ARAMCO communication networks, industrial Ethernet infrastructure, fiber optic systems, and network integration. The role involves configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of communication networks to ensure reliable and secure operation in accordance with ARAMCO standards.

Key Responsibilities

Configure, integrate, test, and commission industrial communication networks in accordance with ARAMCO standards.

Perform installation, patching, testing, and troubleshooting of Optical Fiber Cable (OSP/FOC) networks using OTDR, optical power meters, laser sources, and related test equipment.

Configure and manage Layer 1 and Layer 2 network infrastructure, including network rings for operational redundancy.

Configure, harden, and troubleshoot industrial switches and routers such as MOXA, Cisco, and equivalent networking equipment.

Implement and maintain VLAN configuration, tagging, and network segmentation.

Support SCADA communication networks, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and other industrial automation systems.

Implement and troubleshoot ARAMCO Network Ring Protection and redundancy protocols.

Perform network diagnostics, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance to ensure high network availability.

Prepare technical documentation, test reports, as-built documentation, and commissioning records.

Coordinate with project engineers, vendors, and client representatives during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Ensure all activities comply with ARAMCO engineering standards, HSE requirements, and project specifications.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial communication networks, with ARAMCO project experience preferred.

Hands-on experience with ARAMCO communication network infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of ARAMCO engineering standards related to communication systems.

Experience in OSP Fiber Optic Cable (FOC) patching, splicing coordination, testing, and troubleshooting.

Proficiency in using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Laser Source, and other fiber testing equipment.

Strong knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 network configuration and industrial Ethernet architecture.

Experience configuring and troubleshooting MOXA, Cisco, and similar industrial networking devices.

Hands-on experience with Network Ring Protection technologies and industrial network redundancy.

Strong knowledge of VLAN configuration, VLAN tagging, and network segmentation.

Experience supporting SCADA, RTU, and industrial automation communication systems.

Good troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification is an advantage.

MOXA Industrial Networking certification is preferred.

Experience with industrial communication protocols and Ethernet-based automation networks.

Previous experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
