# Job Description – Cathodic Protection Engineer

**Position:** Cathodic Protection Engineer

**Department:** Engineering / Corrosion Control

**Reports To:** Engineering Manager / Project Manager

## Job Purpose

To design, install, monitor, inspect, test, and maintain cathodic protection (CP) systems for pipelines, storage tanks, marine structures, and other metallic assets to ensure effective corrosion control and compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

## Key Responsibilities

* Design sacrificial anode and impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) systems.

* Conduct site surveys, soil resistivity testing, and corrosion assessments.

* Perform CP commissioning, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting.

* Measure and analyze pipe-to-soil potentials and other CP parameters.

* Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing CP systems.

* Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, technical reports, and method statements.

* Review project specifications, corrosion studies, and client requirements.

* Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and project teams during installation and commissioning.

* Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as NACE/AMPP, ISO, Aramco Engineering Standards, and project specifications.

* Maintain records of inspections, test results, maintenance activities, and calibration certificates.

* Investigate corrosion-related failures and recommend corrective actions.

* Provide technical support during project execution and maintenance activities.

* Ensure all activities comply with HSE policies and procedures.

## Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

* AMPP (formerly NACE) Cathodic Protection certification is preferred.

* Professional engineering registration is an advantage.

## Experience

* Minimum 5–8 years of experience in cathodic protection engineering within the oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, or infrastructure sectors.

* Experience in CP system design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.

* Familiarity with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, SEC, or other major industrial project standards is preferred.
