Primary Purpose

The technician is responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning ANSUL kitchen fire suppression systems, gas shut-off systems, and associated mechanical equipment used in commercial kitchens.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Inspection & Survey

Visit customer sites for inspections.

Assess installation requirements.

Take measurements of kitchen hoods, ducts, and cooking appliances.

Identify the correct routing for piping and system components.

2. Installation Work

Install and assemble:

ANSUL fire suppression cylinders

Mechanical piping

Nozzles

Fusible links

Manual pull stations

Gas shut-off valves

Detection lines

Mechanical release mechanisms

Brackets and supports

Ensure installation complies with:

Manufacturer’s specifications

Fire safety regulations

Project drawings

3. Testing & Commissioning

Conduct pressure testing of piping.

Check for leaks.

Test mechanical operation of the system.

Verify cylinder pressure.

Test manual pull station operation.

Test gas shut-off valve functionality.

Ensure the complete system operates correctly before handover.

4. Preventive Maintenance

Carry out scheduled maintenance by:

Inspecting cylinders

Replacing fusible links when required

Cleaning nozzles

Checking piping condition

Verifying pressure gauges

Lubricating mechanical parts

Ensuring all components remain compliant

5. Troubleshooting & Repairs

Diagnose and repair:

Faulty valves

Damaged piping

Blocked nozzles

Gas shut-off failures

Mechanical release issues

System leaks

Replace defective parts and restore the system to full working condition.

6. Emergency Service

Respond to emergency calls after:

Fire discharge

Accidental activation

Equipment failure

Reset or reinstall the system and return it to operational status.

7. Documentation

Maintain records of:

Inspection reports

Maintenance reports

Commissioning reports

Materials used

Spare parts

Service history

8. Travel

Travel throughout Saudi Arabia for installations, maintenance, inspections, and emergency service calls.

Required Experience

Minimum 5 years in one or more of the following:

Plumbing

Mechanical installation

Fire protection systems

HVAC

Industrial piping

Gulf experience is preferred.
