Project Engineer (Civil with MEP Experience)

Location: Saudi Arabia

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Civil with MEP Experience) to oversee and supervise construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The successful candidate will act as the client’s representative on-site, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Supervision & Coordination

Review and understand project drawings, specifications, scope of work, approved materials, and technical requirements.

Coordinate project startup activities with contractors and stakeholders.

Review construction schedules, mobilization plans, material submittals, and quality plans.

Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.

Conduct regular progress and technical coordination meetings and prepare Minutes of Meeting (MOM).

Construction Management

Supervise civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works.

Review and evaluate shop drawings, material submittals, and subcontractor prequalification documents.

Review method statements for construction and MEP activities.

Inspect site works through RFIs and ensure compliance with project standards.

Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant works and monitor corrective actions.

Quality, Health, Safety & Security (QHSE)

Ensure contractors comply with all construction health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.

Monitor adherence to approved QHSE plans and project procedures.

Promote a safe working environment across all project activities.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

Track project progress against approved schedules.

Review contractor progress reports and progress payment applications.

Evaluate variation orders and change requests before submission for approval.

Prepare and submit weekly progress reports with photographs and project updates.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

Supervise testing and commissioning activities for building services and equipment.

Maintain testing records, logs, and commissioning documentation.

Prepare snag lists, monitor rectification works, and verify completion.

Review and verify as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, warranty documents, and handover packages.

Coordinate final project handover to the client.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

Strong knowledge and experience in Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) systems.

Professional Engineering certification is an advantage.

Experience

Minimum 8–12 years of experience in construction supervision and project execution.

Proven experience managing civil, structural, and MEP works.

Experience in industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction projects preferred.

Strong understanding of project planning, execution, quality control, and contractor coordination.

Required Skills

Strong understanding of Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.

Ability to review technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.

Excellent project coordination and stakeholder management skills.

Knowledge of testing, commissioning, and handover procedures.

Strong report writing and documentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Working Conditions

Full-time site-based position.

6 days per week.

8 working hours per day.

Working hours shall align with the Main Contractor’s site schedule.

Duration as per project requirements.
