Logistics Specialist – Global Importing & Overseas Sourcing

🎯 About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive Logistics Specialist to manage and optimize our end-to-end international supply chain. In this role, you will be the driving force behind importing raw materials, machinery, and spare parts from overseas vendors directly to our facilities. You will navigate international shipping lanes, oversee customs compliance, and manage carrier relationships to ensure seamless, cost-effective operations.

💼 Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Import Management: Coordinate international freight forwarding (Air, Ocean, Road) from overseas suppliers to local warehouses.

• Customs Clearance & Compliance: Prepare, review, and submit accurate import documentation (Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin).

• Vendor & Carrier Negotiation: Source, evaluate, and negotiate rates with international freight forwarders, shipping lines, and local customs brokers.

• Cost & Milestone Tracking: Maintain comprehensive tracking sheets to monitor shipment status, transit times, and landing costs.

• Risk & Delay Mitigation: Identify potential supply chain bottlenecks or customs hold-ups and implement proactive solutions to ensure on-time delivery.

🎓 Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in international logistics, global sourcing, or freight forwarding.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of global trade terms, customs regulations, and harmonized tariff codes (HS Codes).

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, data tracking) and ERP systems.

• Communication: Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate across different time zones and cultures.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
