**Role Overview**

The **Pump Technician** is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and overhaul of various pumping systems, including booster pumps, centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, and fire fighting pump sets. Within a **Facilities Management (FM)** context, this role ensures the continuous flow of domestic water, sewage systems, and life-safety fire systems across commercial or residential assets.

Key Responsibilities

* **Preventative Maintenance:** Perform scheduled inspections and servicing of pump sets, including mechanical seal replacements, bearing lubrication, and alignment checks.

* **FM Site Operations:** Manage pump room operations in accordance with **FM Service Level Agreements (SLAs)**, ensuring zero downtime for critical building water and drainage services.

* **System Diagnosis:** Troubleshoot electrical control panels, pressure switches, and float switches to identify root causes of pump failure or performance drops.

* **Emergency Repairs:** Respond rapidly to floods or water supply failures, performing on-site repairs or coordinated removals for workshop overhauls.

* **BMS Integration:** Monitor pump status via the **Building Management System (BMS)** and manually verify flow rates and pressure readings to ensure system integrity.

Key Requirements

* **Experience:** 3–5 years of specialized experience as a Pump Technician, with a **strong preference for candidates from an FM background** who understand high-rise or large-complex water distribution.

* **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in overhauling various pump types and deep knowledge of control panels, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and hydraulic principles.

* **FM Knowledge:** Experience working with **CAFM systems** for work order management and a solid understanding of how pump systems interface with Fire Alarm and HVAC systems.

* **Physical Ability:** Capability to work in pump rooms, manholes, and confined spaces while adhering to strict LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and safety procedures.

* **Education:** Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent vocational training.
