Position: Surface Diamond Driller

Job Overview

The Surface Diamond Driller is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of surface diamond drilling equipment on mineral exploration projects.

The role involves drilling boreholes to recover high-quality core samples while strictly adhering to safety, environmental, and operational standards. The driller ensures productivity, drilling accuracy,

and core quality in accordance with company and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Drilling Operations

Operate surface diamond drilling rigs to recover core samples at designated drill sites.

Monitor drilling parameters and adjust techniques to optimize core recovery and quality.

Assemble, set up, dismantle, and relocate drilling rigs and related equipment as required.

Conduct routine inspections to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.

Safety & Compliance

Comply with all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Perform pre-start inspections and risk assessments, and participate in safety meetings.

Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and equipment defects immediately.

Core Recovery & Logging Support

Ensure accurate core recovery and proper core handling procedures.

Maintain correct drilling depths, core orientation, and detailed drilling records.

Assist with transportation, labeling, and secure storage of core samples.

Equipment Maintenance

Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling rigs, rods, pumps, and compressors.

Coordinate with mechanics and supervisors for major repairs or equipment failures.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the drilling rig and worksite.

Teamwork & Communication

Supervise drill assistants or officers when required.

Communicate clearly with supervisors and geologists regarding drilling progress and challenges.

Work collaboratively with site personnel to achieve operational targets.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 5–7 years of experience operating surface diamond drilling rigs.

Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, core orientation, and downhole survey tools.

Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to work at remote sites.

Good understanding of mining safety standards and environmental practices.

Physically fit and capable of working long hours in demanding field conditions.

Employment Details

Number of Positions: 30

Salary Range: SAR 4,000 – 6,000 sr

Working Hours: 9 hours per day (Overtime as per labor law)

Contract Period: Two) years, renewable
