Job Description – Mechanical Engineer (HVAC / Plumbing / Firefighting)

Position Title:

Mechanical Engineer (MEP – HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting)

Experience Required:

7 to 8 Years (Minimum)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems. The candidate must be capable of handling complete MEP design, calculations, technical submissions, and project coordination, including heat load calculations and pump sizing calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems as per project requirements.

• Perform heat load calculations (cooling/heating load) and prepare HVAC sizing.

• Prepare pump calculations, including pump head, flow rate, and selection.

• Prepare and review MEP design drawings, layouts, and shop drawings.

• Prepare technical documents such as method statements, material submittals, and technical reports.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and other engineering teams for approvals and design compliance.

• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, local authority requirements).

• Support site team with technical supervision, troubleshooting, and execution guidance when required.

• Conduct design review and ensure proper quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of engineering outputs.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (ducting, chilled water, VRF, ventilation, etc.)

• Expertise in Plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, stormwater, fixtures)

• Expertise in Firefighting systems (sprinkler, hydrant, pump room design)

• Advanced knowledge of heat load calculations & pump sizing calculations

• Strong technical and design coordination skills

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under deadlines

Software Skills (Preferred):

• AutoCAD (mandatory)

• Revit MEP (preferred)

• HAP / Carrier / Trace or similar load calculation software

• MS Office (Excel, Word)

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
