Summary of Spare Parts Duties & Responsibilities
A Spare Parts Purchaser sources, procures, and manages spare parts, focusing on minimizing downtime by ensuring timely availability, negotiating costs, managing supplier relationships, controlling inventory, processing orders and payments, and coordinating with maintenance/service teams for technical specs and delivery. Key duties include sourcing vendors, evaluating quality/price, issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, maintaining records, and collaborating across departments
Key Responsibilities
• Sourcing & Vendor Management: Research and identify potential suppliers, build relationships, and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Procurement Execution: Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders (POs), and ensure all paperwork (invoices, documentation) is accurate and processed.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, forecast needs, maintain safety stock, and minimize obsolete inventory.
• Coordination & Communication: Work closely with maintenance, service, and finance departments to understand needs, ensure timely delivery, and resolve discrepancies.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure purchased parts meet required specifications, quality standards, and certifications.
• Logistics & Tracking: Arrange for materials transport and monitor the status of orders and deliveries to ensure on-time arrival

with Experience purchaser in spare parts for light and heavy vehicles
