A Metal Fabricator constructs, assembles, and repairs metal products by interpreting blueprints, cutting, shaping, and welding materials (MIG, TIG, ARC). They operate machinery like shears, press brakes, and drills to create components to precise specifications while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Blueprint Interpretation: Reviewing technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine project requirements.

Fabrication & Assembly: Cutting, bending, and shaping metal using tools like saws, lathes, and grinders. Joining parts through welding, soldering, or using bolts/screws.

Precision & Quality Control: Measuring, marking, and testing dimensions to ensure products meet specifications and tolerances.

Machine Operation & Maintenance: Setting up, operating, and performing routine maintenance on workshop machinery.

Safety Compliance: Adhering to OSHA and company safety procedures, including wearing protective gear and maintaining a clean workspace.

Troubleshooting: Identifying, repairing, or replacing defective components.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding (MIG/TIG/ARC) and reading blueprints.

Machinery Knowledge: Experience with shears, presses, saws, and grinders.

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in varied environments.

Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring and fitting components.
