Job Description

Ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of cranes used in construction, manufacturing

The position involves conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and certifying equipment to meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of mobile, tower, overhead, and other types of cranes to ensure operational safety.

• Check mechanical, structural, and electrical systems including hoists, ropes, hooks, brakes, and load indicators.

• Verify compliance with standards.

• Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports with recommendations for repairs or maintenance.

• Identify hazards and risks during lifting operations and report incidents.

• Monitor load planning and stability control to prevent accidents.

• Ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed and certify cranes for continued use.

• Train operators and site staff on safe crane practices and emergency protocols.

Experience and certificates

• technical training in mechanical or electrical systems preferred or LEEA AP.

• Prior work in crane operation, rigging, or mechanical inspection.

• Knowledge:

o Crane operational mechanisms and systems

o Legal and regulatory compliance for lifting operations

o Hazard identification and risk assessment
