Steel industry mechanical draftsman – 2 from India or Philippines.

A steel industry mechanical draftsman translates engineers’ and architects’ designs into detailed technical drawings, plans, and 3D models for the fabrication and erection of steel components and structures.

Core Responsibilities

• Create Technical Drawings: Produce detailed plans, sections, elevations, and shop drawings for various steel items, such as industrial sheds, tanks, trusses, gantry girders, and miscellaneous metal works.

• Utilize CAD Software: Employ computer-aided design (CAD) software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Advance Steel, and Tekla Structures to create and store digital drawings and 3D models.

• Develop Fabrication & Erection Details: Generate detailed drawings for fabrication and on-site assembly/erection, including connection details, weld specifications, and material lists (Bills of Materials).

• Collaborate and Coordinate: Work closely with engineers, architects, fabricators, and site teams to ensure design intent is met, resolve discrepancies, and ensure all drawings are accurate and clash-free with other systems (e.g., MEP services).

• Ensure Compliance: Verify that all designs and drawings adhere to industry standards, safety guidelines, and local building codes.

• Manage Documentation: Revise drawings based on feedback, prepare “as-built” records upon project completion, and manage a central database of models and CAD files.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in relevant CAD software is essential. Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems may also be required.

• Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of steel fabrication techniques, construction principles, and mechanical design principles.

• Problem-Solving: The ability to troubleshoot design issues and modify designs to resolve production problems or correct deficiencies.

• Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring technical accuracy in dimensions, materials, and procedures.

• Education: A diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related drafting field is typically required.

• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, organizational talent, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-departmental team environment.

Salary based on Experience.

Accommodation allowance providing by the company.

8 Hours duty.

Weekly 1 off.
