*** About The Employer ***

The employer is a leading company in Bahrain. They are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their dynamic team. If you are passionate about accounting and have a proven track record, they want to hear from you!

*** Position Overview ***

This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Accountant based in Manama. The Assistant Accountant will handle daily bookkeeping, assist in preparing financial reports, process invoices and payments, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This role also involves supporting the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to the company’s financial planning and analysis.

*** Key Responsibilities ***

• Prepare journal entries to accurately record business transactions in the accounting system.

• Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports by compiling and summarizing account information.

• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by helping to complete necessary accounting tasks.

• Provide support for internal and external audits by gathering and organizing requested financial documents.

• Assist with the processing of accounts payable and receivable, including entering invoices, preparing payments, and following up on outstanding balances.

• Perform daily data entry of financial transactions into our accounting software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and assisting with financial reports.

• Assist in the preparation of financial documents such as balance sheets, income statements, and other reports for management review.

• Maintain and organize financial records, both electronic and physical, to ensure they are easily accessible and up-to-date.

• Communicate with vendors and clients to resolve any billing or payment issues in a professional and timely manner.

• Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed, including filing, scanning, and other clerical tasks.

• Manage and process a high volume of invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports using our automated accounting systems.

• Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and resolve any system-related issues.

*** Qualifications and Requirements ***

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role

• Proficiency in bookkeeping, financial record-keeping, and reconciliation

• Knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial compliance

• Experience with accounting software and tools, such as QuickBooks, FAME, or similar platforms

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional fluency in English
