URGENT HIRING HEAVY EQUIPMENT WORKSHOP ENGINEER

We are looking for a professional candidate to join our team as workshop engineer

Technical & Maintenance

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults in heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, bulldozers, cranes, forklifts).

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

• Overhaul engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and major components.

• Conduct equipment inspections and prepare technical reports on condition and repair needs.

• Ensure proper calibration, testing, and commissioning after repairs.

Workshop Operations

• Plan and schedule workshop jobs to meet operational deadlines.

• Supervise technicians and mechanics, providing technical guidance and training.

• Ensure availability and correct use of tools, equipment, and spare parts.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and service histories.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce workshop safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ensure compliance with company policies, OEM standards, and local regulations.

• Identify and report safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Inventory & Cost Control

• Assist in spare parts identification, ordering, and inventory control.

• Monitor repair costs and recommend cost-effective maintenance solutions.

• Coordinate with procurement and vendors for parts and technical support.

Communication & Coordination

• Liaise with operations teams regarding equipment status and repair timelines.

• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to management.

• Support field service teams when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, or related field.

• 3–7 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or workshop engineering.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

• Experience with OEMs such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, or similar is an advantage.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.

• Leadership and team supervision skills.

• Computer literacy (CMMS, MS Office).

• Good communication and reporting skills.
