Job Title: NDT Assistant / NDT Scanner

Job Summary

The NDT Assistant / Scanner supports certified NDT technicians in conducting non-destructive testing activities such as UT, RT, MT, PT, and VT. The role involves preparing equipment, scanning materials, collecting data, and ensuring work is performed safely and according to applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist NDT Technicians in performing various non-destructive tests (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT).

• Operate and handle NDT scanning equipment and tools safely.

• Conduct scanning operations under supervision to detect surface or subsurface defects.

• Prepare job sites, test materials, and equipment prior to inspection.

• Maintain proper documentation of readings, scan results, and inspection data.

• Follow safety procedures, company policies, and site regulations at all times.

• Ensure all equipment is calibrated, clean, and properly stored.

• Support in preparing inspection reports and uploading data when required.

• Assist with film processing and digital scanning (for RT operations).

• Communicate clearly with technicians and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.

• Perform housekeeping and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical diploma preferred).

• Basic understanding of NDT methods and industry standards.

• Experience using scanning devices (e.g., UT scanners, phased array scanners) is an advantage.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.

• Physically fit and able to work in field, confined spaces, heights, and harsh environments.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours as required.

• Must follow safety guidelines strictly.
