Job Description – Senior Logistics & Freight Pricing Specialist

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Logistics & Freight Pricing Specialist with strong expertise in international shipping, logistics operations, freight costing, and supplier negotiations. The ideal candidate must have deep knowledge of courier services, freight forwarders, customs procedures, and market pricing for air, sea, land, and courier shipments.

This role ensures accurate shipment costing, efficient logistics operations, and selecting the best shipping options to reduce company expenses and improve delivery speed

Key Responsibilities

Freight Pricing & Costing

• Provide accurate cost calculations for all shipping modes: Air, Sea (FCL/LCL), Courier, and Land Freight (GCC).

• Request and compare quotations from global freight forwarders and couriers.

• Negotiate freight rates and secure special corporate rates to reduce costs.

• Maintain a Live Freight Rate Database covering:

• Air Freight rates per KG

• Sea Freight (FCL / CBM for LCL)

• Courier shipping rates (DHL/Aramex/FedEx)

• Customs clearance fees

• Local delivery charges

• Prepare Total Landed Cost calculations including:

• Freight

• Insurance

• Customs duties

• VAT

• Handling charges

• Documentation fees

Logistics & Operations

• Book and manage all local and international shipments.

• Prepare AWB, BL, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, HS Code, and import/export documents.

• Coordinate with drivers, couriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.

• Track all shipments and resolve delays, clearance issues, or documentation gaps.

• Prepare weekly logistics reports and shipment dashboards.

• Verify courier and freight invoices and ensure accuracy before payments.

Supplier & Freight Forwarder Management

• Maintain strong relationships with:

• DHL Global Forwarding

• DSV

• Kuehne + Nagel

• Aramex

• CEVA Logistics

• Bahri / GAC

• TNT / FedEx

• UPS

• Agility

• Build a rated supplier list (Approved Freight Providers).

• Evaluate forwarder performance (price, delivery time, reliability).

• Continuously update market rates and freight trends globally.

Customs & Compliance

• Ensure shipments fully comply with Saudi Customs and ZATCA requirements.

• Assign correct HS Codes and calculate duties.

• Coordinate customs clearance (Air/Sea/Dry Port).

• Prepare required documents (Certificate of Origin, SASO, invoice attestation…).

Required Experience & Competencies

• Minimum 5–10 years experience in logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding.

• Strong knowledge of courier pricing and freight market trends.

• Excellent understanding of:

• Incoterms 2020

• HS Codes

• Duty & VAT calculations

• Export/Import documentation

• International logistics regulations

• Strong negotiation skills & supplier management.

• High accuracy in costing and documentation.

• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and ERP systems.

• Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
