Key responsibilities of a permit receiver

Must have very good english communication / Diploma Holder

Review and understand the permit: Confirm all details are correct, including the scope of work, hazards, and required safety precautions. Clarify any unclear points with the permit issuer.

Inspect the work site: Conduct a pre-work inspection to identify any hazards, ensure safety measures like barricades and signage are in place, and verify that tools and equipment are in good working order.

Ensure worker safety and compliance: Confirm that all personnel are properly trained, have received necessary safety inductions, and are wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Implement and monitor controls: Ensure that all control measures listed on the permit are implemented, such as lockout/tagout procedures or gas testing.

Maintain communication: Keep continuous communication with the permit issuer, site supervisors, and the work crew to address any changes or new safety requirements.

Manage the permit: Monitor ongoing work to ensure adherence to permit conditions and ensure emergency equipment is readily available. They are responsible for closing the permit after the work is completed, following a final inspection.

Emergency preparedness: Make sure the team is aware of emergency procedures and that necessary emergency equipment is accessible.
