Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and certified DCS Engineer with expertise in Schneider Distributed Control Systems to provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for a major seawater desalination plant located in the Eastern Province.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of the DCS system, supporting the plant operations team, and leading system diagnostics and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive inspection, diagnostics, and maintenance of Schneider DCS systems.

Identify and resolve faults, perform root cause analysis (RCFA), and implement corrective measures.

Provide technical support to the operations and maintenance team for all DCS-related issues.

Carry out software and hardware configuration, backup, and restoration tasks.

Support 24/7 emergency response when required, ensuring minimal downtime.

Prepare technical reports including inspection summaries, RCFA findings, and recommendations.

Conduct training sessions for plant personnel on DCS system operation and troubleshooting.

Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards during all work activities.

Coordinate with project management and client representatives for daily activities and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).

Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in DCS maintenance and support.

Mandatory: Schneider Electric DCS certification (e.g., EcoStruxure, Modicon, or equivalent).

Strong understanding of process automation, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.

Experience in water, wastewater, or process industry is highly preferred.

Proven ability to perform system upgrades, logic modifications, and loop checks.

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

Technical Skills

Schneider DCS (EcoStruxure / Modicon / Foxboro / Unity Pro).

SCADA and PLC integration knowledge.

Networking and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).

HMI configuration and graphics modification.

Preventive maintenance planning and execution.

Other Requirements

Must hold a valid Schneider authorization certificate.

Willingness to work in industrial plant environments and perform on-site visits.

Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to emergency calls.

Must comply with all SWCC and site safety standards.

Preference for candidates currently residing in Saudi Arabia with transferable Iqama.
